Web Conference EDLD 5370 September 12, 2011

This web conference consisted of talking about reflections for the 33 indicators.  We discussed having three references mentioning a self-assessment or a probe of our work and understanding and what I learned from the activity that connects past and future learning.  The other part of the reflection should discuss me as a learner and what I will take from my performance to future contexts.  Lastly the reflection should include what impact for development of lifelong learning skills the activity had on me.  Things I have learned and gained and how I can transfer my learning to new situations.  We also discussed APA formatting for our course based reflections and our comprehensive examination.  We also used this time to discuss monthly reports and field-based activities summary reports and validation.  Lastly we ended our discussion about future plan for continuing our education to the doctorate program.  Many students need a break but have stated they would like to continue their education with Lamar University.

EDLD 5370 Web Conferences

This week’s web conference, Saturday September 3, 2011 at 10 am we continued our talk about our internship assignments.  While we chatted online I realized some people had not been too happy with their week 1 grade.  Fortunately our TA, Dawn has offered lots of help in these situations.  She can be reached by email or phone to help out and answer any questions.  Every week that she has graded our assignments she has given feedback on what needs to be corrected or cited wrong.  So far our comprehensive exam consists of introduction, goals, and leadership vision and reference page.  As we go along with Dawns feedback we should be going back and making corrections.  This web conference also cleared up the difference between assignment reflections and course reflections which was a bit confusing.

EDLD 5370 Web Conference Experience

The participation in a web conference in EDLD 5370 is a quick solution to any question or information I may need.  I hold this opinion because simply put, I can’t afford to lose time driving to meet on campus face to face and using web conferences and interacting via video.  I can connect with my classmates and professor in less time without leaving my office or home.  Being able to share knowledge and responses to questions are of utmost importance.  This is also a consistent an exceptional way to train us and teach us about web conferencing the wave of the present.  In thinking about my future, this is an excellent way for someone in my field to learn to keep pace with technology and is a great way to learn how to be social with a web portal.  There isn’t any way to improve this experience, I enjoy it and get my answers.
